American Financial Group, Inc. Announces Third Quarter Results and Declares Special Dividend
American Financial Group, Inc. (NYSEAFG) today reported 2024 third quarter net earnings of $181 million ($2.16 per share) compared to $177 million ($2.09 per share) in the 2023 third quarter. Net earnings for the 2024 third quarter included net after-tax non-core items that reduced net income by $13 million ($0.15 per share loss). By comparison, net earnings for the 2023 third quarter included net after-tax non-core items that reduced net income by $31 million ($0.36 per share loss). Annualized return on equity was 15.2% and 15.7% for the third quarters of 2024 and 2023, respectively, and is calculated excluding accumulated other comprehensive income (AOCI).
