INNIO to Power UK Grid Stability with Landmark Project Near London
INNIO Group and Clarke Energy are helping to deliver one of the world’s largest high-speed gas engine peaking power plants in Thurrock, England. The two companies already signed a contract to this effect in 2024. The 450-MW flexible generation facility is being constructed by Statera Energy, a leading developer, owner, and operator of flexible energy assets. With full operations targeted for late 2026, it is expected to provide enough power for up to 1 million homes in Southeast England—helping to support the UK’s energy resilience strategy.
INNIO and KMW Secure Grid Stability and Data Center Supply With a Peaking Power Plant
INNIO Group has signed a contract with KMW (Kraftwerke Mainz-Wiesbaden AG) for a new 54-MW peaking power plant. A total of twelve modular energy systems from INNIO are intended to be operated at the site. Part of the plant’s capacity is expected to be available for the “Green Rocks” data center, which is being built by KMW and Norwegian data center operator Green Mountain. INNIO’s decentralized energy solutions serve as backup in case of a blackout due to grid failure.

At a signing ceremony held in Batam, Indonesia, INNIO Group and PT MPower Daya Energia (part of Infra Daya Group) concluded an agreement for the delivery of 80 MW of power for grid stabilization.
