FOX News Media’s special programming surrounding the inauguration of President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance was the highest rated in cable news history, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. Additionally, FNC’s special coverage marked the highest non-primetime cable news telecast in history and posted triple digit increases versus the inauguration of President Joe Biden in 2021 and grew in viewership versus 2017. Coverage across FOX News Channel (FNC) and FOX Business Network (FBN) peaked at 12 million viewers and 2.6 million in A25-54 in the 12 PM/ET hour. From 11:30 AM to 1 PM/ET, FNC’s Inauguration of Donald Trump, co-anchored by chief political anchor Special Report’s Bret Baier and anchor and executive editor of The Story Martha MacCallum, garnered 11.4 million in viewers and 2.4 million in A25-54, outpacing broadcast networks ABC, NBC, CBS in viewers and all cable networks across the board. It was FNC’s highest rated Inauguration Day special programming in network history. During inauguration coverage, FNC held 80% of the cable news audience share in viewers and 77% in the A25-54 demo as MSNBC and CNN marked more lows. According to data from Nielsen MRI Fusion, FNC also had the largest cable news share with democrats (72%) and independents (78%). MSNBC delivered its lowest-rated inauguration day coverage ever (11:30AM-1PM/ET) and CNN fell to its second lowest-rated inauguration in network history.

Will Cain to Take Over 4 PM/ET Weekday Timeslot on FOX News Channel 

FOX News Media (FNM) will unveil a series of programming changes across FOX News Channel (FNC) and FOX Business Network (FBN), announced FNM CEO Suzanne Scott. Beginning on January 21, FOX & Friends Weekend co-host Will Cain will take over the 4 PM/ET weekday timeslot on FNC with The Will Cain Show. FOX News contributor Charlie Hurt will replace Cain as co-host of FOX & Friends Weekend beginning January 18. The Fox Report and The Big Weekend Show will both expand to two hours on Saturdays & Sundays also starting on January 18. Additionally, FBN’s Dagen McDowell will join The Big Money Show which will expand from 12-2 PM/ET on weekdays beginning on January 27 while she also continues to co-host The Bottom Line (6-7 PM/ET).

FOX News finished November as the top news brand on YouTube securing over 400 million video views during a historic election month, according to Shareablee. As Americans voted in an historical election, FOX News Digital marked its best month since November 2020 leading news brands with multiplatform views and minutes, according to Comscore. For the month, FOX News Digital secured 4.5 billion total multiplatform minutes (up 57% over November 2023), 2.4 billion total multiplatform views (up 43% over last year) and 114.9 million total digital multiplatform unique visitors (up 30% over November 2023).* Comparatively, CNN saw declines compared to November 2023 with both multiplatform views (down 3% vs. November 2023) and multiplatform minutes (down 8% vs. November 2023). FOX News Media’s primetime coverage of election night across FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Network, FOX Business Network (FBN) and FOX News Digital topped all television networks with nearly 13.6 million viewers and 4.4 million in the 25-54 demo, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. FNC’s Democracy 2024 primetime coverage averaged nearly 10.3 million in total viewers and 3.1 million in the 25-54 younger demographic, dominating the competition in both categories and beating ABC, NBC, CBS and all cable news networks for the second election in a row.

FOX News Media will launch a new daily one-hour Spanish-language program entitled FOX Noticias that spotlights issues impacting the Hispanic community beginning October 15th, announced FOX News Senior Vice President John Sylvester. FOX & Friends Weekend co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy will helm the program which will air weekdays at 4 PM/ET on the country’s first and longest running Spanish-language sports network, FOX Deportes, and will also be available in podcast form via FOX News Audio.

Trey Yingst has been promoted to chief foreign correspondent, announced FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott. In this position, Yingst will continue to provide coverage of international issues and events from locations around the globe. Additionally, Yingst was tapped as FOX News Books’ newest author, penning their 12th title “Black Saturday,” a gripping, firsthand account of the October 7, 2023 terrorist attack in Israel and now ongoing war that it started in Gaza.

Katherine Moran Meeks has been named General Counsel of FOX News Media, announced Suzanne Scott, its CEO. Meeks will begin her new role on August 19th, while Bernard T. Gugar has stepped down from his position as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Corporate Development. Meeks will report directly to Scott with further reporting responsibilities to Fox Corporation’s Chief Legal and Policy Officer Adam Ciongoli.

FOX News Media will present extensive live coverage of the CNN presidential debate between candidates President Joe Biden (D) and former President Donald Trump (R) on Thursday, June 27th in Atlanta, Georgia. FOX News Media has elevated Jacqui Heinrich to senior White House correspondent, announced its president and executive editor Jay Wallace. FOX News Media has promoted Peter Doocy to Senior White House correspondent, announced president and executive editor Jay Wallace. FOX News Media has signed Mary Katharine Ham as a contributor, where she will provide analysis across the network’s platforms. She will make her debut on America’s Newsroom (9-11 AM/ET) this morning with co-anchors Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino.

FOX News Media, in partnership with the National Merit Scholarship Program, has selected Diana Jachman and Nathaniel King as the recipients of its fifth annual Dr. Charles Krauthammer Memorial Scholarship, announced FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott. Jachman is the daughter of FOX News Channel’s (FNC) Atlanta bureau ENG field photographer Thomas Jachman, and King is the son of FNC’s Dallas bureau ENG field photographer Scott King. FOX News Media and Greg Gutfeld have agreed to a multi-year contract extension where he will continue as host of FOX News Channel’s (FNC) late-night sensation Gutfeld! and co-host of The Five, announced FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott. Gutfeld will also host/produce FOX Nation programming from time to time.

FOX News Media (FNM) has named a new advertising sales leadership team, announced Jeff Collins, president of advertising sales, marketing and brand partnerships for Fox Corporation. Effective immediately, Trey Gargano will serve as executive vice president of ad sales, overseeing all FNM platforms, including FOX News Channel, FOX Business Network, FOX News Digital, FOX News Audio, FOX Weather and FOX Nation. He will replace Collins, who was recently elevated to president of the division for FOX Corporation. Additionally, Ryan Roelle has been promoted to senior vice president of national sales where she will focus on endemic and national advertising in addition to leading linear and digital sales across the country. Roelle will report to Gargano and continue to be based in Chicago.

FOX News Digital closed out calendar year 2023 as the top-performing news brand with multiplatform views and minutes, while seeing 9% growth with views and 6% growth with minutes year-over-year, according to Comscore.* For the year, FOX News Digital secured 20.2 billion multiplatform views, over 36.9 billion multiplatform minutes and averaged 93.7 million monthly multiplatform unique visitors. CNN and The New York Times both saw year-over-year decreases across these key performance indicators. The FOX News mobile app finished 2023 averaging 6.1 million monthly unique visitors.**

FOX Business Network’s (FBN) Democracy 24: FOX Business Republican Primary Debate was the most-watched program in linear television, digital and streaming last night, averaging 9.5 million viewers and nearly 2 million in A25-54 on FOX News Channel (FNC), FBN and UNIVISION, according to data from Nielsen Media Research.

FOX News Media has extended Bret Baier’s multi-year contract where he will continue his role as chief political anchor, and anchor and executive editor of Special Report, announced president and executive editor Jay Wallace. FOX News Media’s Democracy 24: FOX News Republican Primary Debate was the most watched telecast in all of linear television, digital and streaming last night, averaging 12,803,000 viewers and 2,815,000 in the 25-54 demo, topping more than 70% of all presidential primary debates in the last two cycles (2016 and 2020), according to data from Nielsen Media Research. Co-moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, the first presidential debate of the season averaged 13 million viewers across FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOX Nation and FOX News Digital. Additionally, last night’s debate drew a larger audience than the network’s previous debate in Iowa in January 2016 without then-candidate Donald Trump which averaged 12.5 million total viewers.

The third installment of The Senate Project series will feature Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) in a forum moderated by FOX News Channel’s (FNC) chief political anchor Bret Baier on Monday, June 12 at 11 a.m. EDT/8 a.m. PDT from the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate in Boston. The event will run live, commercial free on FOX News Media’s streaming platform, FOX Nation that day and will later air on FNC on Sunday, June 18 at 10 p.m./EDT.

This marks seven consecutive months as the top news brand with multiplatform views and 26 straight months as number one with multiplatform minutes. FOX News Digital closed out April reaching 3.2 billion total multiplatform minutes, 1.6 billion total multiplatform views, and 103 million multiplatform unique visitors.* Additionally, FOX News Digital saw a 34% increase year-over-year with unique visitors, as it continues to close the gap in this category with April marking the closest competitive period with CNN since February 2019. Additionally, the FOX News Mobile App reached 6.4 million unique visitors in April.**

FOX News Media announced today that a settlement was reached in the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit.

FOX News Digital finished the first quarter 2023 as the top-performing news organization in the competitive set in both multiplatform minutes and multiplatform views, according to Comscore. This marks eight consecutive quarters as the top news brand with multiplatform minutes and three consecutive quarters as the leader with multiplatform views. FOX News Digital, which went through a homepage refresh in March, closed out the first quarter reaching 8.8 billion total multiplatform minutes, 5.2 billion total multiplatform views, and an average of 101 million monthly multiplatform unique visitors.* The FOX News Mobile app averaged 6.5 million unique visitors in the first quarter.** Additionally, FOX News Digital saw a 28 percent increase year-over-year with average unique visitors for the quarter, while CNN.com and NYTimes.com were both down in this metric. FOX News Channel (FNC) will present special programming surrounding President Joe Biden’s 2023 State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress and the Republican response from Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, February 7th, beginning at 9 PM/ET.

FOX News Media will present its third annual “All-American Tree Lighting” on Monday, November 21st at 5 PM/ET partnering with the Police Athletic League (PAL) for a toy drive to benefit New York City’s youth. Hosted by The Five’s Greg Gutfeld, Judge Jeanine Pirro, Dana Perino, Jessica Tarlov and Jesse Watters, the lighting will take place on FOX Square outside the network’s headquarters and air live on FOX News Channel during the last half hour of The Five. FOX’s All-American Christmas tree stands at 50 feet tall and will be adorned by 12,000 ornaments and 340,000 lights. Made in America, the tree will once again feature a patriotic theme of red, white and blue decorations.

FOX News Media has signed Caitlyn Jenner as a contributor, announced its CEO Suzanne Scott. Jenner, a television personality, Olympic gold medalist, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and former California gubernatorial candidate, will offer commentary and analysis across FOX News Channel (FNC) programming and various FOX News Media platforms. Jenner’s first appearance will be on tonight’s Hannity at 9 PM/ET.

FOX News Media will expand distribution of its streaming services across DIRECTV platforms, both companies announced today. FOX News Media’s subscription streaming service FOX Nation will now be available on DIRECTV as a premium add-on which began yesterday with plans to expand availability to DIRECTV STREAM this summer. Additionally, FOX Weather, the free ad-supported streaming television (“FAST”) weather service, is scheduled to debut on DIRECTV STREAM beginning March 29th.

FOX News International, FOX News Media’s global streaming service, announced it will expand distribution into Africa, increasing its reach to 44 countries worldwide. Beginning February 17th, the service will be available in Egypt, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Zambia.

FOX News Books, the publishing imprint of FOX News Media, will roll out its fourth book entitled Mothers and Daughters of the Bible Speak: Lessons on Faith from Nine Biblical Families as part of its first franchise series, announced Suzanne Scott, CEO of FOX News Media. FOX News Media will present special live coverage in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 Americans. On Friday, September 10th and continuing through Saturday, September 11th, network personalities and correspondents will be live from various locations in New York City and Washington, DC. Throughout the week leading up to the monumental anniversary, FOX News Channel (FNC) will present themed packages and guest interviews to honor those who lost their lives.

FOX Weather, FOX News Media’s new AVOD streaming weather service launching this fall, has signed three reporters and five multimedia journalists, announced Sharri Berg, president of the platform. Correspondents Nicole Valdes, Steve Bender and Max Gorden will provide live, breaking news coverage on developing weather events from around the country alongside multimedia journalists Will Nunley, Robert Ray, Katie Byrne, Mitti Hicks and Hunter Davis.

FOX News Audio, FOX News Media’s radio and podcast division, has collaborated with Apple Podcasts Subscriptions to launch a new subscription-based content channel entitled FOX News Podcasts+. This new platform will offer exclusive content along with commercial-free episodes of the FOX News Podcasts portfolio, as well as commercial-free podcast versions of FOX News Sunday, and FOX News Radio’s (FNR) The Brian Kilmeade Show, FOX Across America with Jimmy Failla and The Guy Benson Show.

FOX News Media’s franchise series Proud American will kick off its eighth year celebrating the United States’ armed forces and those who have served by highlighting American heroism across the organization’s platforms, including FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX News Audio and FOX News Digital. In commemoration of Memorial Day, the signature series will feature uplifting and powerful stories of active members of the U.S. military as well as its veterans. Additionally, in recognition of the 2021 edition of Proud American, FOX News Media will donate $25,000 to The Navy Seal Foundation and $15,000 to the USO effort to deliver meals to service members supporting COVID-19 vaccine missions.

FOX News Media today filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems, stating the complaint seeks to “stifle the media’s free-speech right to inform the public.”

FOX News Media, along with Maria Bartiromo, Judge Jeanine Pirro and former host Lou Dobbs, have all filed replies in support of their motions to dismiss the lawsuit by electronic voting company Smartmatic. The replies follow FOX’s earlier motion to dismiss, which was filed on February 8th, and the additional motions filed by Ms. Bartiromo, Ms. Pirro and Mr. Dobbs on February 11th.
