Emvolon and Montauk Renewables, Inc. Announce Collaboration to Transform Methane Emissions into High-Value, Carbon-Negative Fuel
Emvolon, an MIT spin-off that converts greenhouse gas emissions into carbon-negative fuels and chemicals, today announced an agreement with Montauk Renewables, Inc. (NASDAQMNTK), a renewable energy company specializing in the management, recovery and conversion of biogas from waste into renewable natural gas. Leveraging Emvolon’s patented technology, the initial pilot is a commercial-scale demonstration of recovering and converting biogas into green methanol, which is expected to take place at Montauk’s renewable gas production site at a landfill in Humble, Texas.

Emvolon Raises $1.5 Million Seed Funding to Evolve Distributed Chemical Production
Emvolon, a technology company developing a platform for distributed chemical production from resources that otherwise would be wasted, today announced a $1.5 million seed investment led by The Engine. The capital raised will fund building out the Emvolon team and creating a dedicated laboratory space for development of Emvolon’s platform that converts the wasted natural gas at flare sites into usable chemicals like methanol for use in a broad array of industrial applications or as a fuel.
