Comcast today announced it has added sports betting odds from FanDuel into Xfinity Odds Zone on Xfinity X1, giving customers more ways to view live odds, game lines and prop bets for major sporting events without having to take their eyes off their TV.

The signature costumes of Glinda and Elphaba, as worn by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo in Universal Pictures' cinematic event Wicked, are on display in the Comcast Technology Center in Philadelphia. Universal Pictures’ Wicked arrives in theaters November 22, 2024.

Comcast announces the expansion of its smart, fast and reliable Xfinity network to nearly 73,000 additional homes and businesses in Fairfield County. Comcast’s fiber network expansion will bring Xfinity and Comcast Business products, including Xfinity Internet and Xfinity Mobile as well as Comcast Business Internet and Comcast Business Mobile, to the area.

Comcast today announced it turbo-charged its next-generation network, with 2 gigabits-per-second (Gbps) download speeds and up to 10x faster upload speeds now available to all customers in Holyoke, Longmeadow, West Springfield and Westfield, MA over the existing connections in their homes and businesses. This speed increase, which is made possible by Comcast’s ongoing investment in its network, paves the way for Comcast to deliver symmetrical multigigabit speeds in the near future. In addition, work is nearly complete to provide these faster speeds to all customers in  Southwick and Springfield, MA with the vast majority of those customers already experiencing these faster speeds.

In continuing its long track record of investment and successful network expansions across Massachusetts, Comcast today announced it has submitted 91 applications in the second round of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Broadband Infrastructure Gap Networks Grant Program as administered by the Massachusetts Broadband Institute (MBI). The Program will fund the deployment of high-speed broadband to unserved or underserved locations in Massachusetts. If awarded, Comcast’s applications aim to connect the remaining homes and businesses in 91 communities to the company’s Xfinity network, which delivers gig speeds, world-class reliability, and the best WiFi experience in-and-out of the home over a robust fiber network.

Today, Comcast announced the premiere of award–winning documentary, Wade in the Water: A Journey into Black Surfing and Aquatic Culture, a film that dismantles the racial barriers of conventional surf culture, available now on Comcast’s Black Experience on Xfinity channel, and the Xumo Play free streaming app. Launched in 2021, Black Experience on Xfinity features the ultimate in Black storytelling from Black programming partners and film studios and has released a variety of original documentaries, like Wade in the Water, showcasing diverse talent and content creators.

Comcast Business today announced that it is providing Seaport Stays – a collection of boutique hotels and long-term rental properties owned by BG Capital in North Wildwood, New Jersey – with several technology solutions, including Ethernet Dedicated Internet, plus Comcast Business Internet and X1 for Hospitality. These solutions, paired with managed WiFi services, support Seaport Stays’ efforts to create memorable, outstanding guest experiences and streamline internal operations. Seaport Stays aims to shift Wildwood’s seasonal tourism pattern to a year-round destination and believes that technology-enabled amenities in their properties will be critical to that success.

Comcast announced it has appointed Shawn Adamson to Senior Vice President of Comcast Business for Comcast Cable’s Northeast Division. In this role, Adamson will lead all aspects of Comcast Business’ operations, from deepening small business relationships to implementing strategies in the midmarket and enterprise segments, across 14 northeastern states from Maine through Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Comcast today announced that it will provide $110,000 in grants to two Atlanta nonprofits – Raising Expectations and Inspiredu – to support the launch of Connect 404, a Digital Navigator program. Through Connect 404, the organizations are partnering to hire trusted community members (known as digital navigators) to help residents get connected to the internet and access digital skills training programs to advance digital equity for Georgians. The announcement will take place at Inspiredu’s headquarters, located at 1550 Southland Circle NW at 9:45 a.m. on October 30.

Comcast today announced that partner CommScope has delivered the first prototype Full Duplex DOCSIS (FDX) amplifiers to its advanced technology labs for system testing. Comcast has signed contracts with Indiana’s Office of Community & Rural Affairs (OCRA) to bring gigabit-capable broadband service to unserved parts of Indiana. The initial finalized agreements will enable Comcast to build to rural, unserved portions of Allen, Bartholomew, Carroll, Cass, Delaware, Fayette, Hendricks, Jennings, Johnson, Hamilton, Huntington, La Porte, Madison, Marshall, Montgomery, Morgan, Porter, Starke and Wayne counties.

Comcast today announced it will award $1 million in grants to 100 small businesses owned by women and people of color, including Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, and Asian American owners, among others, in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties, bringing the Comcast RISE program’s total investment in South Florida to $2 million. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) today announced that Comcast is working with Samsung to deliver 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions that can be used to enhance 5G connectivity for Xfinity Mobile and Comcast Business Mobile customers in Comcast service areas. Samsung will supply 5G RAN solutions for Comcast’s efforts to deliver 5G access to consumer and business customers in the United States using Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) and 600MHz spectrum.

Comcast today announced a successful test of the final technical component necessary to deliver multi-gigabit symmetrical speeds – powered by 10G and DOCSIS 4.0 – throughout its entire network. With this test completed, Comcast will launch live trials later this year, and will begin delivering 10G-powered multi-gig symmetrical services to customers before the end of 2023.

Comcast today announced it will award $10,000 grants to 100 small businesses owned by women and people of color in Cook County through its Comcast RISE Investment Fund. Cook County is one of five locations selected for this new round of the grants program. Other locations include Miami, Oakland, Seattle and Washington D.C. Comcast will award a total of $1 million in grants in Cook County alone – $5 million across the five locations – in this round. This brings the total amount of Comcast RISE Investment Fund grants awarded to $21 million nationwide to date. This is the second time Comcast has opened the fund to Cook County businesses.

Comcast today announced the launch of XClass TV, extending the reach of the company’s global technology platform to smart TVs nationwide. For the first time, Comcast’s award-winning entertainment and voice platform is available direct to consumers across the U.S., without an Xfinity subscription, both inside and outside of Comcast’s service areas.

Starting July 16, 2022, consumers will be able to reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by dialing the three-digit abbreviated code 988. In order for 988 to work for all callers in every state, certain area codes that still permit seven-digit local dialing must transition to 10-digit dialing (or 1+10-digit in CA and parts of IL). The table below lists the 82 area codes, across 36 states, that must transition to 10-digit local dialing. The transition may also require customer-initiated updates to safety or security equipment, so please read to the end of this communication.
