Grant Leslie appointed as S2G Operating Partner, Government & Policy.
Leslie joins S2G after nearly 15 years at FGS Global, where she most recently served as Global Head of the Food Team, advising S2G and other corporate, nonprofit, and coalition clients on advocacy and policy strategy. Previously, she served as Senior Advisor to Secretary Tom Vilsack at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), where she managed policy development and interagency coordination across key areas, including the Farm Bill, nutrition programs, renewable energy, rural development, and agricultural trade, as well as in roles in the U.S. Senate for a decade.
The sectors in which S2G operates are among the most highly regulated and policy-sensitive areas of the economy. As a team of specialists who bring deep sector experience, S2G views policy as both a core part of its underwriting process and a key driver of value creation. Through this lens, S2G works to align private capital and public policy to drive innovation in industries essential to national economic growth and resilience.
“We are focused on supporting innovation that strengthens the backbone of the U.S. economy, from farmers and energy providers to the infrastructure and markets that connect them,” said Sanjeev Krishnan, Managing Partner at S2G. “Grant brings the experience and perspective needed to help our companies navigate regulation, access new opportunities, and compete globally.”
Food and agriculture have long stood at the center of some of America’s key policy work, from the Farm Bill to energy programs. Having spent her career working alongside farmers, rural communities, and agribusiness leaders, Leslie brings a deep understanding of how to balance economic growth with regulatory realities. At S2G, she will apply this experience to advance approaches that foster innovation in food and agriculture and inform scalable solutions across energy and oceans.
Leslie’s appointment reinforces S2G’s commitment to investing in productivity markets where policy engagement and technical expertise drive durable value. She will work across the S2G team and portfolio to develop practical strategies that enhance innovation, efficiency, and competitiveness.
“By aligning capital, innovation, and thoughtful policy engagement, S2G is helping operators move faster, reduce risk, and compete globally in industries that are central to our economy,” said Leslie. “I look forward to pairing S2G’s sector experience with proactive policy strategy to help businesses bring new solutions to market.”
