A Varied Professional Career

Mr. Oevrevik has held various roles, including teacher, marketing consultant, web developer, project manager and director of development. In all his pursuits, however, he has emphasized educating others, creative improvement and building a better world.

As for his entrepreneurial ventures, Mr. Oevrevik cofounded Better Globe AS in 2006, an organization dedicated to combating poverty and environmental degradation in East Africa. To achieve this, the organization plants trees and supports sustainable forestry projects as a means of combating climate change. In 2012, he founded Better Globe Media with his expertise in web development and content strategy. This organization focuses on educating others on the importance of Better Globe's overall mission.

In a similar vein, Mr. Oevrevik has sponsored local children through Child Africa in Uganda since 2003. Additionally, he contributes a percentage of the revenue that he earns from his prints to Teen Challenge and supports the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and Pet Alliance.

Founding JTO Photography and Leading Fine Art Photography Workshops

Most recently, Mr. Oevrevik founded JTO Photography, where he serves as lead visual storyteller and conducts a series of fine art photography workshops across Europe, helping photographers develop both technical skill and artistic vision. These workshops take place in visually striking locations such as Paris, the Dolomites, Venice, Florence and Cinque Terre and are designed to provide personalized guidance and foster artistic storytelling among participants.

Achievements in Photography

In photography, Mr. Oevrevik has made perhaps his greatest achievements. He has received numerous international accolades for his work, including Photographer of the Year by the 1839 Awards in 2024 and Discovery of the Year by the reFocus Awards in 2022. In total, he has received more than 200 awards for his work.

Mr. Oevrevik's photography has been featured in venues such as the Kaiser Gallery in Cleveland, Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago, Galerie Gora in Montreal and Glasgow Gallery of Photography. He also involves himself in organizations such as the International Photography Awards, the Global Photo Awards and Professional Photographers of America.
