About Ariel LaNette Lybarger
Ms. Lybarger is currently serving as associate managing director of program advisory services at Witt O'Brien's, Ambipar Response. In this role, she focuses on expanding service lines within grant management, consulting, policies and procedures, and organizational development. Her primary focus involves serving state and local government agencies, federal entities and nonprofit organizations. She is particularly proud of her leadership role in managing a $12 billion defense program during her time with the Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration.
Academically, Ms. Lybarger earned a master's degree in accountancy from the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management in 2015 and a bachelor's degree in professional, technical, business and scientific writing from the University of New Mexico in 2012. She also holds a Project Management Professional certification, which complements her diverse skills in business and project management. Although she initially considered pursuing a career in law, she shifted gears to business after realizing her passion for numbers and logic.
Expertise in Project Management
Ms. Lybarger's early career includes two stints at Sandia National Laboratories, where she worked as a project controller and project manager from 2016 to 2018 and earlier as a records and project management professional from 2008 to 2013. She also gained valuable experience as an audit and consulting associate team lead at REDW from 2014 to 2016. There, she focused on policy and procedure consulting and internal audits.
Before her current position, Ms. Lybarger was a consulting senior manager at Moss Adams from 2023 to 2024. There, she specialized in grant management consulting, internal audits and policy and procedure consulting. She had previously worked for Moss Adams from 2020 to 2023 as a consulting manager, through which she successfully designed and launched several service lines that contributed to the firm's growth. Alongside this role, she honed her program management expertise as a program management analyst and specialist at TechSource Inc. and Esphera Concepts LLC between 2018 and 2022.
A Commitment to Community
In addition to her professional work, Ms. Lybarger remains dedicated to civic engagement. She has served as a board member for the YMCA of Central New Mexico since 2022 and volunteered with the New Mexico Lung Association from 2012 to 2013. Her contributions to her community extend further through her involvement with PB & J Family Services, which supports local children and families.
Ms. Lybarger's work has garnered recognition from peers and colleagues, including a Technical Excellence Award from Moss Adams and several commendations from the Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration. She is also an esteemed member of the Project Management Institute, the National Grant Management Association and the Grant Professionals Association.
