About Jon Schneider
Mr. Schneider's professional journey has been aided by a strong academic foundation. In 1983, he earned a bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering from DeVry University, where he received Presidential Honors for his academic excellence. While his higher education established the groundwork for his technical proficiency and innovative perspective, he further honed his expertise by earning a Project Management certification from the Project Management Institute through LERN. He has held this certification since 2016, strengthening his project management skills across various roles.
For more than 25 years, Mr. Schneider demonstrated his expertise and innovation as an electrical engineer, software architect and technical project leader. His career includes founding members of the worldwide Internet and iPhone developer technical staff at AT&T Bell Labs from 1996 to 2003, senior staff engineer at Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems Inc. from 2004 to 2008 and managing director at JAB Transportation LLC from 2009 to 2013. His work at Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems Inc. introduced the multibillion-dollar security, radar and navigation data processing and sensor systems of the F-35 MACH3 aircraft and the New York City MTA railroad and mass transit security systems.
Later in his career, Mr. Schneider's work with GM Energy Solutions at General Motors, from 2023 to 2024, was instrumental in advancing electric vehicle technology and safety. Additionally, his tenure as a technical project manager at Open Access Technology International Inc. in Bloomington, Minnesota, included designing, building, deploying and maintaining complex microgrid infrastructure networks and software solutions for renewable energy systems. Among other roles, his technical expertise significantly contributed to the development and delivery of an industry-first 3D laser precision-measurement system for automotive and fleet repair while he was a senior electrical engineer at Infinity 3D Laser Measuring in Apple Valley, Minnesota.
Outside of the Office
While Mr. Schneider has a history and background that crosses the automotive, aerospace and train industry, his expertise is enriched by his membership in various professional organizations and companies, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Lockheed Martin, AT&T and the GM Alumni Association. These memberships underscore his ongoing connections with industry peers and his dedication to professional development. Born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, his father served in the US Navy's South Pacific theater in World War II.
Mr. Schneider attributes his success to his education, commitment to meeting deadlines and ability to implement ideas in manufacturing. Looking to the future, he aims to have high-speed trains and planes in production with Boeing and NASA over the next three to five years.
